One Chelsea defenders is now very likely to move away from West London. He joined the Blues only in the summer but is now very heavily linked with exit.
The star in question here is Renato Veiga who joined the Blues in summer from FC Basel. The West London club paid £12 million to sign him. The 21 year old was looking an impressive addition due to his versatality and young age.
Veiga mainly plays as centre-back but can also play as full-back on both sides. He can also feature as holding midfielder and central midfielder when required. Currently, he is given the role of backup left back by Enzo Maresca.
Veiga has played 18 matches for Chelsea but has played only 177 minutes in Premier League so far. He mainly plays in Chelsea’s B team that competes in domestic competitions and Conference league.
Due to not being regular player, Veiga is forcing an exit from the club. He is open for loan move in order to play regularly but the Blues wanted to keep him. However, this task is becoming very hard for the West London club.
Renato Veiga very likely to leave Chelsea this month
Veiga was dropped by Maresca last night who said that this is a technical decision. Fabrizio Romano reported that Juventus are pushing for a deal whereas Dortmund are also in the race.
Later, Romano reported that Juve will again be in contact with Chelsea for Veiga. This increases the possibility of the 21 year old moving away from the Blues either on loan or on a permanent transfer.
Simon Johnson has now reported that the Blues are now prepared to let Veiga leave on loan. They will sanction the deal if playing and economic conditions are met. Lastly, Johnson reported that Ligue 1 side Marseille have joined the race.
