Chelsea enquire about Dutch midfielder ahead of summer window

Chelsea have made an enquiry about Dutch midfielder ahead of summer window. The player is currently shinning bright in Serie A and is happy at current club. However, the situation can still change at the end of this season.

The Blues are keen to add another midfielder to their unit in summer. They sold Cesare Casadei in January where Chukwuemeka left on loan. Chukwuemeka is very likely to get sold in summer along with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

These departures have opened up space in midfield at West London. Enzo Maresca wants a player who can play as both central and holding midfilder. The Blues have now enquired about Dutch superstar who fits this criteria perfectly.

Chelsea showing interest in AC Milan star

Matteo Moretto earlier reported that Tijjani Reijnders is set to extend his stay at Milan until 2030. But, he has reported that Chelsea have made an enquiry about him recently. The Blues are keen to add him to their unit in summer.

Reijnders is very happy at AC Milan and he may sign the new contract soon. But if Milan fail to qualify for UCL, they might consider offers for their top targets. As of now, they are on 9th position in Serie A and far away from qualifying for UCL.

Reijnders joined Milan in summer 2023 and played 51 games in his first season. He was able to register 4 goals and 3 assists in those games. This season, he has been absolutely amazing as he has added more goals to his tally. The Dutch international has 13 goals and 2 assists in 41 games this term.

Reijnders can play as both central and holding midfielder. In addition, he can also play as attacking midfielder which will make him key asset for Chelsea. But, the Blues may struggle to guarantee him regular gametime which may result in failure of the deal.
