Chelsea face fresh competition for their preferred striker target this summer. Man United are already in the mix and now another Premier League club has joined the race.
The Blues are set to sign another striker this summer. They want a young striker who can serve as backup for Nicolas Jackson. But, they also want him to compete for the starting position. They are already linked with some top talents across whole Europe.
On the other hand, Man United are likely to part ways with both Hojlund and Zirkzee. Hence a new striker will be their top priority this summer. They are linked with one Premier League striker who is long term target of Chelsea.
The star in question here is Liam Delap who plays for Ipswich Town. He is 22 years old and has been in superb form this season. Delap has scored 12 goals and picked 2 assists in 30 Premier League games.
Chelsea & United face fresh competition for Delap
Chelsea view Delap as their top target this summer. Enzo Maresca is aware of the striker’s qualities due to his time at City. On the other hand, United are willing to make Delap their first choice striker which will be more convincing for the 22 year old.
According to The Sun, Everton have now joined the race to sign Delap. David Moyes wants to sign the 22 year old this summer. The Toffees have funds available and hence can opt to go in for Delap. As of now, Broja is likely to be sent back whereas Calvert-Lewin will depart this summer.
Delap can be signed for £30 million if Ipswich get relegated this summer. They are on the 18th position but have 12 points less than the 17th place club and hence are very likely to get relegated. Delap is too good to play in Championship and hence will likely to switch club this summer.
