Chelsea finally recall 25 year old star back from loan

Chelsea have recalled their 25 year old star back from loan spell. They have triggered the clause in the contract in order to improve their squad depth.

The Blues had a vast squad depth before the start of this season. Later, Enzo Maresca came on and took some key decisions. Many stars left permanently whereas some were sent on loan. The Blues had recall option in some of loaned players.

Chelsea recall Trevoh Chalobah from loan

David Ornstein has now reported that the Blues have recalled Chalobah from Crystal Palace loan. He added that the West London club had an option to call the 25 year old back from loan in the middle of the season. They have finally triggered that option.

Chalobah will now join Chelsea with immediate effect. He will not be available for Palace in tonight’s game agains Leicester City. Lastly, Ornstein reported that the Blues consider Chalobah as important part of squad for the rest of the season.

Chalobah joined Crystal Palace on loan in the summer. This suggested that his Chelsea career is over and they player can leave permanently at the end of the season. However, the 25 year old has received another opportunity to shine at Stamford Bridge.

As of now, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are both sidelined due to injury. Despite improving a lot under Maresca, the Blues are still lacking spark in defence. Hence, the Blues are keen to make some key changes in their backline.

Originally, the Blues were linked with a move to sign new defender this month. But, this will prove hard due to being in middle of the season. In addition, the Blues need to part ways with some of their players first.

Amidst all these, Chalobah emerged as an alternative option to improve the backline. He has played 14 games this season for Palace and has also scored 3 goals. The 25 year old has played really well and if he carries this form, he can earn himself spot in Chelsea squad for next season too.
