Chelsea goalkeeper feels he is in best of his forms at the club

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez feels that he has finally settled into the club. The keeper says he is in the best of his forms.

The Blues have recently signed their new keeper Filip Jorgenson. Robert Sanchez remains to be the no.1 choice for the club. There were doubts about how Sanchez would contribute to the team but he is the top choice for new manager Enzo Maresca.

The team has been in need of a top-class keeper for the club. There have been exchanges of several players to keep the position of the goalie for Chelsea. Robert Sanchez first arrived at the club when Eduardo Mendy left Stamford Bridge.

The first season for the keeper was not very good as Sanchez was injured as soon he joined the Blues. Djordje Petrovic took over his position and didn’t regain his position as the No. 1 keeper. It was only after Petrovic’s departure from the club on loan that Sanchez got his position back.

Chelsea has recently acquired Filip Jorgenson From Villareal in the latest summer transfer window. Jorgenson however does not seem to be the top choice for Enzo Maresca. The manager believes that Robert Sanches should be the starting goalkeeper for the club.

The Spanish goalie was handpicked by Enzo to start all the games for Chelsea in the 2024-20235 campaign. Robert has said that he is in one of his best forms at Stamford Bridge as per the club’s official site.

“I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt. It feels amazing because it’s the fittest I’ve ever felt in two years”.

The keeper now seems to be full of confidence as his team is playing well. This has helped in keeping the pressure off him. The Chelsea defence has been one of the strongest this season. This defensive armory has helped release the pressure off the keeper.

Is Robert Sanchez’s place with the Blues in danger?

Chelsea was in dire need of a world-class goalkeeper in previous seasons. Robert Sanchez has had a good record for the Blues ever since they acquired him from Brighton and Hove Albion last season.

Djordje Petrovic took the role of the club’s no.1 keeper after Sanchez was injured. He was reinstated to his position after Petrovic was loaned out to Chelsea’s Ligue 1 sister club Strasbourg.

The Spanish keeper has managed to keep two clean sheets in five Premier League matches. He has only conceded 5 goals this season. This includes an important save against AFC Bournemouth earlier this month.

The last league term was not his best for the keeper. the new manager Enzo Maresca has decided to show faith in the keeper and is his first choice to start. In the last season Sanchez started in 16 league games but he only kept three clean sheets. These included four goals conceded in the FA Cup which includes the goals against Liverpool.

Chelsea acquired Filip Jorgenson from Villareal in the summer transfer window. The Chelsea management made a deal with the Danish keeper to replace the then-injured Robert Sanchez. However, Sanchez’s return from injury has set Filip as the backup keeper for the club.

Chelsea will face Brighton next

The Blues have a good start to their season and will look to continue their winning streak. Maresca’s men have kept a clean sheet in their three outings in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.

Chelsea will now host Brighton and Hove Albion at the Stamford Bridge. The team have recently come from a dominant victory against Barrow in the EFL Cup. Christopher Nkunku’s hattrick, Joao Felix’s brilliant performance and Pedro Neto’s first goal led them to victory.

They now head into another Premier League match against the Seagulls. Chelsea have won all of their away games this season. A home victory is still in the cards for Chelsea in the 2024-2025 campaign. Brighton should not be taken lightly as they haven’t been defeated this season. They recently have come from a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea boss Enzo Manger however will be confident that his players are in top form. The Blues should be eased through the match as they face Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
