Chelsea had record bid rejected from one Premier League club on the deadline day. The bid was for young defender who is having a superb season right now.

The Blues were only able to sign one new player in this transfer window. They were very quiet in the market. On the other hand, they were very busing in parting ways with their exisiting stars. Many stars left the club either on loan or permanently.

The only signing Chelsea made was 19 year old Mathis Amougou. They paid €15 million to sign the midfielder on the deadline day. As per the latest reports, they were also keen to sign a defender on the deadline day but their offer was rejected.

Who did Chelsea wanted to sign on last day?

As per The Telegraph, the Blues submitted a bid to sign Murillo from Nottingham Forest. Forest could have recorded their club record sale with this bid but they opted to reject the offer.

Forest are having a superb season in Premier League. They are on 3rd position and are competing for the UCL spot. Hence, they will not like to disturb their rhythm especially in the middle of the season.

Murillo has been fantastic so far this season. He has started 23 league games and registered 1 goal too. The Brazilian player is still 22 years old and is already world-class. He fits perfectly in Chelsea’s hiring system and hence the Blues can go again for him in summer.

The Blues have loaned Axel Disasi and will very likely sell him in summer. In addition, they are also willing to part ways with Trevoh Chalobah. Hence, we can expect a busy summer window from them atleast in the defensive department. As of now, Marc Guehi is still their top target who will enter final year of Crystal Palace contract in summer.
