Chelsea have tactical plan ready for their latest signing. They have plans ready for the player’s future and are confident about developing him into world-class star.
The star in question here is 19 year old Mathis Amougou. The Blues signed him for £14 million from French club Saint Etienne. He was the only signing made by West London club this window. Earlier, Chelsea’s plans about Amougou’s future were revealed.
It is said that Amougou will stay at West London until the end of the season. The Blues want to help him evolve around some of the best players in the world. But, the 19 year old will be sent on loan after the end of this season.
Amougou will be sent to play for Strasbourg which is Chelsea’s sister club. He will develop their in the top-flight league and then will be recalled to play for the Chelsea’s first team. Now, Chelsea’s plans for him as per the tactics have also been revealed.

Simon Johnson has reported that the Blues view Amougou as ‘number six’. He added that the club is confident about developing him in that position. In addition, Johnson said that the number six position hold great importance in Chelsea’s squad and they are keen to find a proper depth in that part.
Amougou has played as either central or attacking midfielder for Saint Etienne. But, he will be used as holding midfielder by Maresca. As of now, Moises Caicedo is the player assigned that role and hence Amougou may spend more time with him than others.
Simon Johnson also said that Chelsea were keeping tabs on Amougou from the past 2 years. In addition, German champions Bayer Leverkusen were also showing interest. Leverkusen tried to sign him last year but failed to do so.
