Chelsea have taken a key decision about the signing of one French superstar in January transfer window. The decision taken by the Blues makes a lot of sense.
The star in question here is PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani. The 26 year old joined the French club in summer 2023 from Frankfurt. He played 40 games in his debut season and helped the club to win Ligue 1 title.
However, this season has not been same for Kolo Muani. The 26 year old is not in the plans of Luis Enrique. He has fallen down the pecking order and played only 14 games this season. In addition, he has only started in 2 of those.
PSG are keen to sell Kolo Muani this month. They are also prepared to send him on loan and many clubs are showing interest in him. This deal is very important for the player as he will get regular football in order to revive his career.
As of now, Premier League remains the next possible destination for the 26 year old. He is being looked upon by many English clubs and Chelsea were the ones being linked with him. The West London club have now taken a big decision regarding the signing of Kolo Muani.
Chelsea not interested to sign Kolo Muani
According to L’Equipe, the Blues are not interested to sign Kolo Muani in January. This will come as a big boost from other interested clubs. As for Kolo Muani, there is no place in PSG squad and some other club will surely sign him soon.
Chelsea’s decision makes a lot of sense if we look at the current situation. The Blues are doing really well offensively and have a very good squad depth. Signing Kolo Muani would have decreased the game time of exisiting stars.
In addition, the French striker has not been on the top of his game since joining PSG. This suggests that he would have not been looked upon by any of the current Chelsea stars by manager Enzo Maresca.
Lastly, the Blues should concentrate on improving their defence right now. They have some critical probelms in the back line that needs quick attention if they want to win major titles.
