Chelsea identify German striker as Ekitike alternative

Chelsea to go all out to sign Nigerian

Chelsea are showing strong interest in Hugo Ekitike. But signing him will not be easy for any club. Hence, the Blues have identified one German striker as a replacement to Ekitike.

Chelsea started the summer window by signing Liam Delap. The 22 year old opted to join them over other top clubs. He costed them only £30 million due to Ipswich Town getting relegated. This has given the West London Club a chance to sign another striker.

The Blues do have Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu as strikers. But, Jackson has been underperforming and has not been able to impress. On the other hand, Guiu is still very young and the Blues are keen to send him on loan for improvement.

Chelsea have added Hugo Ekitike to their striker wishlist. They have already held talks to sign him. But, Frankfurt are demanding €100 million for Ekitike. The French striker was in superb form this season. He is wanted by many clubs and hence Frankfurt are unwilling to lower their transfer fee demands.

Chelsea to shift their interest from Ekitike to another Bundesliga striker?

Chelsea are finding it hard to agree on transfer fee for Ekitike. Frankfurt are in no rush to sell the player and hence are not willing to negotiate. As a result, the Blues have turned their attention to another Bundesliga striker.

According to Caught Offside, the Blues have made an enquiry about Nick Woltemade. He is 23 year old German striker who plays for Stuttgart. He is tied to them until 2028 and has no release clause in his contract. The Blues are joined by Atletico Madrid in the race.

Woltemade had a very good season currently for Stuttgart. He scored 17 goals and picked 3 assists for them in 33 games. He recently made his debut for Germany national team in Nations League. Woltemade surely has a bright future waiting for him at top club.
