Chelsea are still in talks with Bayern Munich over two potential deals. The German giants are keen to sign Christopher Nkunku whereas the Blues are keen to land Mathys Tel.
Nkunku joined the Blues in summer 2023 but had hard start to his Chelsea career. He faced injury issues and played only 14 games last season. He has managed to stay fit this season but is still not starting regularly.
Nkunku is keen to move away from Stamford Bridge this month. He is heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich. The Blues are also willing to replace him this month itself. They are interested to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern.
Chelsea and Bayern still in talks: Updates about Nkunku and Mathys Tel
Florian Plettenberg has reported that Nkunku has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich. But, there has not been any agreement with Chelsea yet. The both clubs are still in talks to discuss a potential deal. It can be either a permanent deal or a loan deal.
As for Mathys Tel, Plettenberg has reported that the 19 year old wants to stay at Bayern. He wants to play for the German giants for long term. Earlier, it was reported that he may still be available on loan.
Nkunku is forcing a move away from West London and the Blues may feel powerless to keep hold of him. However, it will be interesting to see if they are able to convert this move into swap deal and sign Tel.
Chelsea have a great squad depth but are a little short on left flank. Earlier, Mudryk was tested positive for doping and is sidelined. The departure of Christopher Nkunku this month will decrease the depth even more and hence the Blues are keen to improve that side of the pitch.
