Chelsea are in talks with Portugese side Sporting Lisbon. The Blues are interested to sign one of their young superstars who is having a very good season in La Liga at the moment.
The Blues were said to sign midfielder this window but the deal never happened. They were linked with many top players across Europe. Despite 2 midfielders moving away, they were unable to add new star to their squad.
The 2 stars left are Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka. Casadei joined Serie A side Torino whereas Chukwuemeka has been sent on loan to Dortmund. The Blues are keen to sell Chukwuemeka permanently in summer.
Chelsea are also said to part ways with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The 26 year old joined the Blues only in the summer but is already pushing for a move. He is open to leave due to lack of game time. He is very likely to depart in the summer window.
This suggests that Chelsea can be once again seen making moves for midfielder in summer. They will like to sign young player who can be seen as long-term investment and are already reported to be in talks for such one young superstar.
Chelsea in talks to sign Dario Essugo
Rodra has reported that the Blues are in contact with Sporting Lisbon to sign Dario Essugo. The Portugese giants will demand his €45 million release clause to be paid fully considering his age and quality.
Essugo is 19 years old and is capable of playing as both central and holding midfielder. He is currently on loan at Las Palmas and is having a great season in La Liga. He has so far played 14 games and registered 1 goal as well.
Essugo can be a perfect backup for anyone out of Caicedo, Lavia and Enzo Fernandez. In addition, the Blues can even send him on loan to Strasbourg at first before making him first-team regular. It will be interesting if they step-up their process in summer window.
