Chelsea have been rumoured to buy another defender, Mohamed Simakan as claimed by Le10 Sport.
The 20-year-old centre-back currently plays for Strasbourg in Ligue 1, a top-flight French football club.
The Blues are currently seeking to improve their defence with Simakan being on their watch.
The Blues have been struggling in English Premier League lately, now sit at 6th position with just 26 points from 16 matches, played 2 more than 8th placed Manchester City. Both teams are up against each other on Sunday night fixture.
Mohamed Simakan’ Career, Statistics and Performances:
Mohamed Simakan began his footballing career aged six years.
He made his senior debut at the age of 19, in the UEFA Europa League playing for RC Strasbourg. However, his team won 3-1 against Maccabi Haifa.
Simakan even has a goal and an assist to his name while playing 42 matches for Les Coureurs. However, the young defender also played for France U20s and scored a goal in their 2-2 draw against Slovenia U20s.
He even has the second-best tackle success percent (80.8%) among the U23s across Europe.
Chelsea to develop some more youngsters with Simakan:
Chelsea have been well-known for their spending spree in the transfer window.
The Blues bought some wonderful players in the summer window of 2020, such as Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, and Malang Sarr.
Another young defender Malang Sarr is now currently on loan to FC Porto. The Pensioners are well-known for their loaning system and the development of some bright superstars.
Mohamed Simakan would be a worthy addition for Chelsea. However, the competition for centre-backs would get intense.
The injuries have been concerning and Simakan would be a perfect back-up defender who can even play as a right-back. Although the youngster is available for a cheap rate for Chelsea around €15 million, it will be interesting if the London team will go for him.
Many other clubs such as AC Milan, Everton, and OGC Nice are also interested to sign Sinakan. It seems that Pioli’s Milan are the front-runners.
