Chelsea have now joined Liverpool in race to sign Algerian fullback Rayan Ait-Nouri. Ait-Nouri currently plays for Wolves and has a market value of €35 million.
Both Blues and Reds are in search of a new left back. Both Premier League giants do have quality options available, but their future is uncertain at the moment.
As for Chelsea, they do have Marc Cucurella, Renato Viega and Ben Chilwell. But Chilwell is very likely to leave the club in january. In addition, Maresca has used Reece James as left back which suggests that he does need a new left back.
As for Liverpool, both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas have shared minutes this season. But Robertson is now 30 and his performances have started to slow down. In addition, Tsimikas is 28 years old which says that the Reds will look for a young fullback.
Now as per Molineux News, Rayan Ait-Nouri has emerged as a common target for both Chelsea and Liverpool. Ait-Nouri has had a very good start to the season and has scored 3 goals along with picking 2 assists in 10 Premier League games. As of now, the Reds have a upper hand in signing him next year.
Liverpool keen to sign Ait-Nouri
Despite searching for a new left back, the Reds are very likely to offer Andy Robertson a new contract. However, it maybe because Liverpool will like to avoid losing him for free or ending in a similar situation to that as Alexander-Arnold, Salah or Van Dijk. All of these three superstars are in their final year of contract.
Robertson can be kept as a backup for Ait-Nouri. The Scottish international has a vast experience and hence can help young players in improvement. Hence, a move for Ait-Nouri is very likely at the moment and we may also see it happening in January itself.
Along with Ait-Nouri, the Reds are also keeping tabs on Milos Kerkez. Kerkez plays for Bournemouth who understand that this may the fullback’s last season with them.
