Chelsea join the race for Aston Villa attacker
According to The Independent, the Blues have joined the race for Morgan Rogers. The report adds that Aston Villa rate him very highly and are unwilling to sell him just yet. But, they can be forced to do so due to the PSR regulations.
Rogers is 22 years old and has been very good for Villa since joining them in January 2024. He has played 50 games this season and is one of the trusted players of Unai Emery. Rogers has paid back by scoring 14 goals and 11 assists.
Rogers can play in variety of positions which makes him a key asset. He is mainly used as attacking midfielder by Unai Emery. But, the 22 year old has also featured as left winger, right winger and striker when required.
Rogers can be a very good addition to the Chelsea squad. But, the player can still opt to reject the move if he is not guaranteed regular game time. The West London club have a very big squad depth and some more are going to join soon. Hence, no player can be guaranteed to play regularly anytime soon.
