Chelsea joined by 2 others in pursuit of 19 year old defender

Chelsea are keen to sign 19 year old defender this summer. The player is having a very good season in Premier League and has impressed multiple clubs. As of now, the Blues are joined by one English and one German club in the race.

The star in question here is 19 year old Dean Huijsen. The Spanish defender joined Bournemouth in summer 2024 and instantly made big name for himself. He has so far played 20 games for the Cherries and has registered 2 goals too.

Huijsen has been in very good form since moving to England. He is being looked upon by multiple clubs and it seems that he will join a big club in the upcoming summer window itself. Bournemouth will not want to sell him so quick but will be forced to do so.

The 19 year old has release clause in his contract that will be activated this summer. The Cherries can earn around €65 million from his sale but will have to share some of their profit with Juventus who have a sell-on clause in the defender’s contract.

Chelsea and 2 other top clubs keen to sign Dean Huijsen this summer

Firstly, the Blues are very likely to make some key defensive signings this summer. They are very likely to make a move for Marc Guehi. In addition, they are also showing interest in Dean Huijsen after being impressed by his top form.

Huijsen fits perfectly in Chelsea’s recruitment plans. He is very young and can have a long-term future at Stamford Bridge. However, it will not be easy for Chelsea to land him due to the competition in the market.

According to Daily Mirror, Huijsen is also wanted by Newcastle United. The Magpies are keen to make some defensive signings as soon as possible. They were also interested in signing Guehi but their offers were rejected by Crystal Palace.

The reports also state that Bayern Munich are keen to sign Huijsen. They have lost De Ligt in summer and are relatively weak at the back. Huijsen can develop into world-class defender and it will be interesting to see which will be his next destination.
