- Chelsea are keen to bring back Marc Guehi
- Guehi is one of Chelsea’s successful academy graduates
- He is highly rated by club legend Frank Lampard
Chelsea are doing really well currently. Enzo Maresca has been able to transform the team and helped them to secure the third position in Premier League.
This season has been full of up for Chelsea. But, there is still one major issue and that is club’s defence. The Blues have been lacking in the back line and hence have dropped some important points on their way.
At the moment, Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana start the games regularly. But other than these two, no one has managed yet to impress the club. Badiashile and Disasi have even been linked with exit next year.
Chelsea will surely sign one or more defenders next year. They are already monitoring some of the top talents across Europe. One of those targets, is their very own superstar who is now one of the best defenders in England.
Chelsea interested to bring back Marc Guehi
Guehi has been Chelsea’s academy graduate. He made his senior debut under Frank Lampard who was manager of Chelsea that time. Lampard was highly impressed with Guehi and labelled him as ‘comfortable’.
Later, Guehi went on loan to Swansea for two years before joining Crystal Palace permanently. The Blues are now planning to bring him back as per Graeme Bailey who was speaking to The Chelsea Chronicle.
Guehi has contract with Palace running until 2026 but the club will try to sell him next year. They will not like to let the defender leave for free. Along with Chelsea, many other top clubs are keen to sign the England international.
As per now, Tomas Araujo still remains the top priority for Chelsea. But, they may trust Guehi more as he has already proved himself in Premier League. In addition, he is English and is a regular member of the Three Lions.
