Chelsea have learnt the exact price tag which they will need to pay to send 24 year old winger back to his parent club. But, there is a hope that they will make the player their permanent signing.
The star in question here is Jadon Sancho who is on loan at West London. The 24 year old joined Man United as a talented youngster back in 2021. He was superb for Borussia Dortmund but the situation changed completely since him moving to Manchester.
Sancho was unable to adapt to Premier League. He played 82 games for Red Devils but was only able to register 12 goals and 6 assists. This saw him fall down the pecking order. In addition, he had a fall-out with then United boss Erik Ten Hag.
Sancho left Man United in January 2024 to join Dortmund on loan. He once again impressed with half season cameo. But, he was still unable to get into the United squad. The Red Devils were interested in selling Sancho, but no deal reached advanced stage.
Lastly, Sancho joined Chelsea on loan on the deadline day. The Blues also have an option to buy the 24 year old at the end of the season. If the West London club finishes above 14th position in Premier League, they will need to pay United £25 million for Sancho.
Chelsea to send Sancho back by paying penalty fee
The Blues do have another option in the contract to send Sancho back to Manchester. According to David Ornstein, they will need to pay United £5 million as penalty to cancel the permanent deal. There is a hope that Chelsea may sign Sancho permanently, but the player has to first impress the club.
Sancho had a good start to his career in West London. But, he has experienced a dip in his form and has not been able to score or assist in his last 13 games. So far he has scored only 2 goals and picked 5 assists in 28 games for Chelsea.
