Chelsea are doing really well in the recent days. They have been able to score 8 goals in the last two matches. Their strikers are in the top form and are scoring regularly. Nicolas Jackson is enjoying a very good time right now whereas Christopher Nkunku is also proving unstoppable whenever he is given a chance. But, Chelsea still want to sign a striker and are now linked with yet another Nigerian international.
The Blues are very keen to sign Victor Osimhen next year. They tried very hard to lure him away from Italy this summer. But, the Premier League giants always fell short. It was mainly due to his price tag and demanded wages. The Blues still have not given up on him and are said to go again next year after him.
Chelsea board feels like they still need a striker despite Jackson and Nkunku 10 goals combined this season. Along with Osimhen one other Nigerian striker is now monitored by The Blues.
Chelsea monitoring another Nigerian striker
According to TBR Football, The Blues are looking closely at Victor Boniface. Boniface is 23 years old and currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen. He helped the German club to win their first ever league title last season under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.
Boniface scored 21 goals and picked 9 assists in 34 matches last term. This season he has scored 3 goals and picked 1 assist in the opening 4 league matches. He played a key role in making Leverkusen invincible last season in league.
Along with Bundesliga, the Nigerian striker also helped Leverkusen to win DFB Pokal and German Super Cup. They also reached the Europa League final but unfortunately lost the match against Atlanta.
There are many talks that Chelsea may drop the plan to sign new striker due to current available options. Along with Jackson and Nkunku, they also have 18 year old Marc Guiu who Chelsea signed this summer from Barcelona.
