Chelsea have made contact with Italian giants to sign their star winger. The Blues are most likely to sign a winger in summer and hence they can opt to spend big on the Serie A star.
Chelsea want to add another winger to their squad. As of now, Mudryk is suspended due to finding guilty in doping. In addition, Joao Felix is away on loan and he wants to leave permanently in summer. Hence, the Blues are somewhat short in the final third.
The West London clubs wants a left winger who can also play on right. In addition, they want him to play in middle when needed. In January, they tried to sign Mathys Tel but the player rejected the offer. The Blues then ended the winter window without signing a winger.
Chelsea in contact with AC Milan for Rafael Leao
According to CalcioMercato, the Blues have shown interest in signing Rafael Leao. They have made an enquiry and are in contact with player’s agent. Jorge Mendes who is Leao’s agent is expected to play a big role in the deal.
Joao Felix is currently at AC Milan on loan. The Italian club want to sign him permanently and the player has also shown the same desire. Hence, Chelsea can make him part of swap deal.
The West London club earlier tried to sign Leao in 2022. But, Milan wanted his £125 million release clause to be paid fully. This caused Chelsea to back out from the deal. But, now the situation is very different than earlier.
AC Milan are now said to be ready to part ways with Leao for lower fee. Earlier, it was reported that they might agree a deal for a fee around £66 million. Chelsea have the financial muscle to get the deal done and hence this will be a worth watching transfer saga.
