Chelsea have made an enquiry to sign world-class Serie A midfielder. The player has recently signed a new contract but can still be sold due to the current situation of his club.
The Blues are keen to add another midfielder to their unit in summer. They parted ways with Casadei in January. Chukwuemeka has left on loan but the Blues are keen to sell him permanently. Lastly, Dewsbury-Hall is also pushing for an exit in summer.
Chelsea currently have Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo as first choice midfielders. But, Lavia has been highly injury prone whereas Fernandez has had mixed performances. Hence, Maresca will like to add a new name to the squad.
Chelsea make enquiry to sign AC Milan star
According to CalcioMercato, the Blues have made an enquiry to sign Tijjani Reijnders in the summer window. They have been linked with the Dutchman since a very long time. He is having a superb season and multiple clubs are showing interest in him.
Reijnders has recently signed a new contract with AC Milan. He has extended his stay until 2030 but his future still remains uncertain. Milan are set to miss out on UCL spot and hence may be forced to part ways with their key superstars.
Reijnders can be a great addition to the Chelsea squad. He is 26 years old and has entered the peak of his career. He joined Milan in summer 2023 and played 51 games in his first season. Reijnders was able to score 4 goals and pick 3 assists in those 51 games.
This season the Dutch international has improved vastly and has been one of the best midfielders in the world. He has so far scored 13 goals and picked 2 assists in 41 games. Reijnders has played in all parts of midfield roles – holding, central and even attacking role.
