Chelsea make ‘second approach’ to sign top striker target

Chelsea have made second approach to sign their top striker target. They have now made 2 approaches in January in order to land the striker before the window closes on 3rd January.

The star in question here is Liam Delap of Ipswich Town. Delap joined Ipswich in summer from Man City for £15 million. He has been excellent so far and has 8 goals along with 2 assists in Premier League.

Delap has impressed many clubs with his performances and is linked with Ipswich exit after just 6 months. Chelsea have shown interest in the striker and had already made approach to sign him this month.

The Blues are keen to add another striker as backup for Nicolas Jackson. They want to sign young striker who can compete for starting position and secure the future for long time. Delap fits perfectly in the criteria and hence the Blues have stepped up their process.

Chelsea have another go at Liam Delap

Simon Phillips has reported that the Blues have made second approach for Liam Delap. They are keen to land the 21 year old before February. The West London club wants to agree personal terms with Delap first before approaching Ipswich to discuss transfer fee.

As of now, Ipswich are very happy with Delap and want to keep him at the club. They are on 17th position in Premier League and are fighting to avoid relegation. It will be very hard for them to replace Delap in the middle of the season.

Ipswich have tied Delap until 2029 but it will be very hard for them to keep the hold of striker in the summer. Along with Chelsea, penalty other Premier League clubs are interested in the 21 year old.

If Chelsea do sign Delap, he can be great addition to the squad. He can improve his goalscoring tally and become unstoppable with the service from quality players like Palmer, Neto, Sancho and many more.
