FC Barcelona are doing really well since Hansi Flick took over. They are currently on top of La Liga table with 9 wins in 10 matches. But, Barca still feel the need to sign some midfielders in january. As a result, two of Chelsea midfielders are being looked upon by Barcelona sporting director.
Barca are yet to find a proper replacement for Sergio Busquets. In addition, Ikkay Gundogan left the Spanish side after a spell of just one year. This has caused Barca to monitor options in the middle of the pitch despite having financial crises.
Barcelona looking to sign two Chelsea midfielders
Deco who once played for Chelsea is plotting a double raid on them in january. The two players linked with a move to Spain are Carney Chukwuemeka and Romeo Lavia as per Football Espana.
This is not the first time Barca have shown interest in signing these two stars. The Spanish giants had a chance to sign Chukwuemeka on loan this summer whereas they tried to sign Lavia on loan last summer. But, they failed to bring anyone of those superstars and it may because of their financial problems.
Barca are now set again to go after their targets in January. The Blues will not like to let go of their young stars. But, they may have to let Chukwuemeka leave who is unable to get gametime under Maresca. The 21 years old has only player 14 minutes this season.
On the other hand, Barca may struggle to lure Lavia away from Stamford Bridge. The 20 years old Belgian has started showing his worth on the pitch. He is viewed as a player with bright future and it can be justified by his performance against Liverpool.
While Barca may struggle to sign Lavia, they have chance to sign Chukwuemeka if they guarantee him proper gametime. As of now, there is nothing too concrete about the situation and we may have to wait more to get proper updates.
