Napoli are showing interest to sign one really struggling Chelsea star. The star is young and can cost the Italian giants around £30 million.
Recent reports stated that Napoli are keen to sign Renato Veiga on loan. But, Veiga is considered as key player by Enzo Maresca. It is very unlikely that the Blues will agree to sending him on loan.
Now, the Serie A giants are showing interest in another Chelsea star. But, this time they might be able to agree the deal. The star has fallen from the favour of Maresca and is very likely to move away this month itself.
Napoli keen to sign Chelsea misfit
The star in question is 21 year old midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka. The English midfielder joined the club as a talented teenager in 2022 from Aston Villa. The Blues had very high expectations from him.
But, the deal has not worked out well for both the club and the player. Chukwuemeka has failed to impress and so far has played 32 matches in 3 seasons. He is yet to earn his place as regular member of the first team.
The 21 year old is not in the plans of Maresca and has played only 5 games this season. In addition, he is yet to play any game in Premier League this season. Lastly, he has started only 1 out of the 5 games he played.
According to TEAMtalk, Napoli are showing interest to sign Chukwuemeka. The 21 year old is valued at £31 million by the Blues. The deal can be in best interest of both clubs and the player too.
Chukwuemeka has played only 131 minutes of football this season. Hence, he will be keen to move away from Chelsea. It will not be too hard for Napoli to convince him but it will depend on wheter they are prepared to pay the Chelsea’s demanded transfer fee or not.
