Chelsea and Newcastle United are both showing interest to sign Swiss shot-stopper this summer. The initial talks have already taken place with more to follow very soon. The player is very likely to leave his current club this summer.
The star in question here is Gregor Kobel of Borussia Dortmund. He is 27 years old and represents Switzerland on the international stage. Kobel joined Dortmund in 2021 and has been a key player for them. He had performed well on multiple occasions and last season led them to Champions League final.
Kobel has been excellent for Dortmund but this might be his last season with them. There is a belief that he will leave and the German giants are ready to sell him. Dortmund will miss UCL football next season and hence many of their key players will leave the club.

Chelsea are not impressed with Robert Sanchez at all. The Spaniard has failed to keep consistent clean sheets. He is very heavily linked with exit this summer. In addition, Filip Jorgensen is still very young and a new keeper can hence be one of the top priorities this summer.
On the other hand, the Magpies want to constantly be in the race of top fours. In addition, Eddie Howe is keen to win more trophies after ending their long drought of major titles. He wants some new players this summer and a new keeper is very much on the wishlist. Kobel can be a great addition for both Chelsea and Newcastle.
