Chelsea news: Ben Chilwell to resume training with first team

Chelsea were willing to part ways with Ben Chilwell this summer. But, The Blues were unable to receive any offers due to the full back’s injury concerns. Later, Chilwell was linked with Turkish clubs. He was said to join Fenerbahce on loan. However, the deal now seems to have failed and Chilwell is expected to start training with the first team squad.

Premier League clubs need to submit a squad of 25 players over the age of 21. Enzo Maresca was asked question regarding Ben Chilwell recently in the press conference ahead of the next game. Chelsea boss answered in a calm way and assured that the full back will be back in training.

Chilwell was told to find a new club just like Raheem Sterling. Sterling joined Arsenal on the deadline day. However, Chilwell was not able to find a new club for him. He was left out from Chelsea’s squad for UEFA Conference League. He was also training away from the first team.

Enzo Maresca said that Chilwell was not training with them because the idea for him was to leave this summer. He added that they were unable to find the solution. Later, Maresca said that Chilwell will start training with them. The Chelsea boss saw Chilwell in the morning and assured that the fullback is okay.

Apart from Chilwell, Maresca was asked some questions regarding the current Chelsea ownership dispute. Maresca however refused to speak about the situation and said that his focus is on the tomorrow’s game.

Maresca added that he cannot control these things. He said that he has spoken with both Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali. He added that there are no problems and he is focused on the pitch. Maresca also spoke for his players and said that they are professionals and are also focused on the pitch. Mareca ended by saying that this is the only way to improve.
