Chelsea news: Former England star questions recruitment system

One former England international has raised some serious questions about hiring policy of Chelsea. He has stated some key points behind signing big names in the past transfer windows.

The Blues had their first quiet transfer window this January since their takeover. Earlier, they were spending very highly which made their squad very big. Now, many of the previously signed players have left the club or have been sent on loan.

Chelsea recruitment system questioned by former England international

Gabriel Agbonlahor has raised some questions about Chelsea’s recruitment system. He has justified his statements which make perfect sense. Judging by his comments, the West London club have to seriously think about their activity atleast in future.

“Its scary what they’ve spent and wasted. Badiashile was £35M, we’ve not seen him play. Mudryk was disaster of a signing. Enzo, Neto and Nkunku were all expensive. They spent £45 million on Felix and then send him out on loan” – Agbonlahor speaking to talkSPORT.

All of the examples given above justify Agbonlahor’s comments perfectly. Firstly, Badiashile has played only 45 games in 2 years for Chelsea. He is also linked with exit and hence the deal can be seen as a failure.

Mudryk costed the Blues £89 million and he is being looked upon as one of the worst signing in Chelsea’s history. As of now, he is suspended due to being found guilty in doping test. Enzo Fernandez and Neto have performed well but still have costed very much.

Nkunku too was big money signing but this deal can be seen as failure too. He is keen to move away from West London and his demands can be fulfilled this summer. Lastly, Felix moving away on loan has surprised the fans even more.

Chelsea spent £43 million on Felix in summer and after half season have loaned him out. The 25 year old played just 20 games and is keen to move away permanently in summer. This questions the hiring system adapted by the West London club.
