Chelsea are on the verge to record a huge loss on one of their big money signings. The star in discussion has not been able to impact positively on the Chelsea’s side since arrival. Looking at his stats and the latest news, the Blues are very likely to record a huge loss.
The star in discussion here is Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukrainian has recently tested positive for the Doping test. He has been immediately suspended and will now be unable to train with the Blues squad.
Mudryk has rejected all the claims about the use of banned substances. He will now have to undergo hearing process to clear his name before returning to the pitch. Recently, it was reported by Matt Law that the 23 year old has hired law firm that represented Paul Pogba.
Why will Chelsea record a huge loss?
The Blues were really impressed with Mudryk when he was playing for Shakhtar Donetsk. They beat Arsenal to achieve his signature in January 2023. They paid £89 million in order to get the deal done.
In the first half of 2022/23 season, Mudryk was unstoppable for Shakhtar. He had 10 goals and 9 assists in just 18 matches. This made the Blues to pay a huge transfer fee but ever since moving to Premier League, the player’s top form vanished.
Mudryk has been very poor for the Blues so far. He has played 73 matches in the Blue jersey but has only recorded 10 goals and 8 assists in those. These are very poor results considering the amount of money West London side spent on him.
Chelsea were reported to part ways with Mudryk this january. They were open to allow the player to leave on loan but were also said to agree to permanent move if the right offer came their way. But, now the Blues will not be able to receive offers from any club.
Pogba had his 4 year ban reduced to 18 months recently. Despite that, he still missed a lot of football and eventually had his contract with Juventus terminated. The Blues will hope that Mudryk comes clean as soon as possible and they don’t have to record such a huge loss.
