Chelsea are prepared to sell one of their young superstars this month. The youngster joined the Blues only in summer and hence his move away from West London will come as a shock for the fans.
The star in question here is Renato Veiga who joined the Blues from Basel six months ago. Chelsea paid €14 million to sign him and made the player their backup left back. Veiga is only 21 years old and was believed to have a long term future at West London.
However, after just six months the 21 year old is linked with exit. The player himself is keen to move away from the club due to lack of game time. He has so far played only 177 minutes in Premier League. The Blues were hesitating to sell him first, but now it seems that they are ready to agree with Veiga.
Renato Veiga very close to Chelsea exit
Firstly, Florian Plettenberg reported that Borussia Dortmund have reached total agreement with Veiga. He added that the player is keen to join them and German giants want to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
Later, Fabrizio Romano reported that Veiga is pushing for move away from Chelsea as he wants to play as centre back regularly. He added that the Blues are preparing to let the defender leave permanently. Romano also stated that few other top clubs from Italy, France and England are also interested.
Romano has now reported that Chelsea are keen to sell Veiga permanently as they are not willing to sanction loan move. He added that the Blues want around €30 million for the 21 year old.
If the demands of West London club are met, it will be an excellent piece of business from them. They will make a profit of €16 million in just 6 months which will help them in future signings and PSR. They will be keen to sign another left back who can serve as backup for Cucurella.
