Chelsea are prepared to sell their defensive star this summer. This will be followed by welcoming of a new face to the Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are keen to sign new defenders this summer. They are surely going to sign atleast two defenders. As of now, they have Dean Huijsen and March Guehi as their top targets. In addition, there are multiple other stars on their radar.
Chelsea can sign Huijsen for £50 million this summer. The 19 year old has this amount as his release clause in his current contract and that will be activated from this summer. Huijsen fits perfectly in the hiring strategy of Chelsea.
As for Marc Guehi, there is a heavy race but the Blues are confident to sign him. Guehi is one of the best defenders in the Premier League right now. He will enter the last year of his contract this summer. Hence, Crystal Palace may sell him on discount to avoid losing him for free next year.
Chelsea also have sell-on clause in Guehi’s contract. This will allow them to sign him on lower price. But, they still need to generate funds before signing new players as they also need new striker, winger, midfielder and goalkeeper.
Chelsea ready to part ways with their current defender
Football Insider have reported that Chelsea are ready to part ways with Trevoh Chalobah. They will do so in order to raise funds for new signings. Chalobah was recalled from loan in January but he will not have his career at Chelsea beyond this season.
Chelsea may offer Chalobah to Crystal Palace in replacement of Guehi. If Palace disagree they will still have multiple offers as Chalobah has been decent recently. Along with Chalobah, Axel Disasi is also said to get sold. Lastly, Badiashile may also receive same fate if a good offer arises in summer.
