Chelsea are preparing a shock sale of Enzo Fernandez who is only 23 years old. Fernandez has costed the Blues a huge amount of money when he joined them from Benfica.
Enzo Fernandez came into attention when playing for Argentina in 2022 world cup. He was voted as the young player of the tournament which made top clubs lurking for him. It was Chelsea who achieved his signature in January 2023. The Blues paid around £107 million to Benfica to sign Fernandez.
But, Fernandez has failed to make his mark ever since he arrived at West London. He is now not getting enough game time and as per Fichajes, this has became a cause of concern. As a result, Chelsea board are planning to sell him next year.
Chelsea ready to part ways with Enzo Fernandez
Fernandez seems to have fallen down the pecking order. Enzo Maresca has started pairing Moises Caicedo with Romeo Lavia instead of Fernandez. The Argentine is getting very less game time and Chelsea board are not liking it as he is one of their highest paid player.
Maresca has said it publicly that he prefers Lavia over Fernandez. He said that there is no problem with Enzo but he prefers the physicality of Lavia and Caicedo. The Argentine will also find this as a sign to leave the club in search of more game time. He will look for a club that fits his style of play.
At the moment, Fernandez is being looked upon by Real Madrid. The rumours say that Madrid are not happy with the performances of Aurelien Tchouameni. The Spanish giants are planning to make an offer of around £84 million. This will help Chelsea to recover a lot of money the spent while signing the Argentine. However, there is nothing concrete about the interest from European champions as of now.
