Chelsea have played this season without the shirt sponsor till now. They are in constant talks to find their new sponsors in the recent days. The latest news say that The Blues are now very close to agree a deal with one of the top airlines in the world.
Chelsea had Infinite Athlete in front of their shirt last year. They agreed a £40 million deal last year. But the deal was not continued this year and as a result The Blues started without sponsors once again this season.
Who will be the sponsor for Chelsea this season
Earlier Sky Sports reported that Chelsea are in talks with Qatar Airways and two other airlines. Now, Football Insider have revealed that Chelsea are ready to agree a deal with Riyad Air and Turkish Airlines.
There is nothing concrete between the two parties as of now. But it is revealed that the airways are asking Chelsea to lower their demands from £50 million to £40 million. The price may even fall below £40 million if The Blues waste more time before agreeing the deal.
The main reason behind Chelsea not receiving their demanded price from sponsor, is due to not playing in the Champions League. The Blues finished sixth in the Premier League last season. They were looking very likely to play in the Europa League.
However, Manchester United achieved the Europa League spot by emerging victorious in the FA Cup final. Chelsea were then sent to Conference League from where they can earn around £20 million if they win the tournament. The Conference League 2024/25 final will be played in Wroclaw stadium in Poland and Chelsea are the favourites to play it.
The Blues earned £512.5 million in the 2022/23 season out of which around 10% came from shirt sponsorship. Hence, the Blues are speeding up their process to finalize their shirt sponsorship deal as it helps earn them hefty amount of money.
