The duo in discussion here is Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde. Firstly, TBR football confirmed Chelsea’s interest in the duo. Now as per Fichajes, the Blues are ready to spend €150 million for these defenders and Barca may find it very hard to reject this offer.
Firstly, Barcelona view both players very important for future. Kounde has already shone bright under Hansi Flick. Araujo is still to play under German manager but has already established himself as face of Barca’s defence in recent years.
Despite the fact that the Spanish giants considering the duo key players, they could be still forced to part ways with defenders. It is due to the currently financial struggle due to which Barca may find it hard to reject such a big offer.
Kounde has already been linked with Chelsea multiple times. In addition, he was close to join the West London club in 2022 but the move was hijacked by Barca. The Blues still hold interest in him as he can play as central defender and as a right back.
The Frenchman can fill the void in absence of club captain Reece James. James is once again injured and hence Chelsea are worried about him. Kounde can solve this issue and can even be a quality centre back backup.
Lastly, Kounde is highly experienced and has strong leadership qualities. He is still 25 years old but plays like a mature centre back. He will surely be an upgrade on any of the current Chelsea defenders.
