Chelsea will make big moves for defender next year. Antonio Silva and Tomas Araujo are two of the many names linked with Chelsea and the Blues are now prepared to submit a huge bid for them.
Chelsea have done really well since Enzo Maresca took over. They are in far better place than they were in last two seasons. The Blues have scored regularly and as a result have picked 14 points in the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca has started to adapt and get his starting eleven ready. But, the only issue for him stays with picking defenders and Chelsea have not been able to keep clean sheets regularly. They have already conceded 10 goals in 8 league matches.
The Blues are feeling the need to move on from Disasi and Badiashile. The duo have not been able to live up the expectations. Hence, Chelsea have now made defenders their top priority for the next year.
Chelsea plotting a big move for Silva and Araujo
The Blues are interested to sign Antonio Silva and Tomas Araujo from Benfica. Both defenders have played a very important role for Benfica and are their regular starts. Now as per Fichajes, The Blues are prepared to submit a bid worth €100 million for Portugese duo.
It is still unclear what Benfica think about the situation but as of now theh consider both defenders as key players. Silva is already a high rated star and also plays regularly for Portugese national team. On the other hand Araujo is highly versatile and can also play as a right back. The Blues may view this as an important aspect to improve their defence as Reece James has been highly injury prone recently.
The Blues may face competition from Manchester United. United are keen to find a long term replacement for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds next year.
