Chelsea receive good news ahead of West Ham Clash

Chelsea receives good news of important players returning from injuries ahead of an important clash against West Ham.

The Blues will look to win games back-to-back as they won against Bournemouth last weekend. They last had a draw against Crystal Palace just before the international break.

The start of the 2024-2025 campaign has been not too good nor too bad so far. They lost their opening Premier League game against title holders Manchester City. The final score of the opening game was 2-). Chelsea were really poor on the defensive front which led City to capitalise on their average midfield and defensive areas.

Chelsea was one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window. There were total of 12 total signing for the Blues this transfer window. Some prominent faces that came in are Pedro Neto, Marc Guiu, Joao Felix and Mike Penders.

Enzo Maresca has also let go of many players that were not a part of his plan. Some players that left the Chelsea camp are Raheem Sterling, Connor Gallagher and Romelu Lukaku. Thiago Silva has also left the club as a free agent marking an end of an era.

The Blues were very interested in signing Victor Osimehn from Napoli. There was movement until the end of the transfer window but the deal collapsed. Osimehn eventually joined the Turkish club Galatasaray on loan from Napoli. They will still try to sign Viktor in the next January transfer window.

Good news for the Chelsea camp

Enzo Marsca’s team had started their season with many players suffering injuries. They have still managed to win and lose games, currently, they sit in the 8th position of the Premier League table. The current statistics for the Blues are two victories,1 loss and 1 draw in four games.

Maresca and his men will look to continue their winning form after the international break. They face West Ham this weekend. Blues still have major injury concerns as captain Reece James was injured before the game against Bournemouth. The manager confirmed that James had suffered a hamstring injury.

There is some shining light for the Chelsea camp as two important players were seen during training. Chelsea‘s official club website has released photos that show the progress of two players returning from injury. This progress hints at the return of Malo Gusto and Romeo Lavia. The duo was spotted training which could mean they will see play time soon.

Romeo Lavia was a 53 million euro player acquired by Chelsea from Southampton in August. The player has not seen much game time as a Chelsea player. His persistent injuries have not given him the time to shine. Lavia’s return could prove to be fruitful. He can add the depth to Chelsea’s midfield they seem to have been lacking.

Malo Gusto who had a huge contribution for Chelsea is also expected to return from injury. Gusto had an impressive record for the Blues last season with six assists in 27 appearances. He could look to fill in captain Reece James’s role as he is still out due to injury.

Blues look to dominate West Ham

The Hammers will host the Blues in their upcoming clash at the London stadium. Chelsea will look to continue their winning form and dominate West Ham.

A win over their opponents will help the Blues to grab points. These points will help Maresca’s side to crawl above the Premier League table. The potential return of Romeo Lavia and Malo Gusto can help the Blues solidify their defence and midfield tactics.

West Ham have also recently come off from a draw against neighbouring rivals Fulham. If the Hammers manage to win, it would be their second-ever win under their new manager Julen Lopetgui.

Chelsea will very much like to win these games against small clubs. These important points will help Enzo Maresca’s men to compete against Premier League giants such as Arsenal and Manchester City.
