Chelsea retain interest to sign €30 million defender

Chelsea are now focused on improving their defence in the upcoming transfer markets. They are able to score goals and are doing very well offensively. But, their defence seem to be lacking quality as they are unable to keep clean sheets. Many of the top names are linked with Chelsea in the recent days and Lucas Beraldo is one of them.

The Blues are often focused on signing young players as they want to prepare a steady squad for future. Some of the players have already signed long contracts and other may soon be awarded with the same reward.

But, Chelsea also have to let some of their players go which are surplus to the squad. Enzo Maresca is doing a great job and we may soon see him letting some defenders go. The Blues can be seen making a move for defender in January or else they will definately sign a quality centre back in next summer.

Chelsea keeping tabs on Lucas Beraldo

Beraldo caught eyes of the top clubs with his time at Sao Paulo. He was chased by many clubs after which he joined Paris Saint Germain last year. PSG paid around €20 million for the defender.

Simon Phillips wrote on his substack that Chelsea are monitoring Beraldo. Beraldo is only 20 years old and has made 3 international appearances for Brazil. He has made 30 appearances for PSG as of now. In addition, he has been able to find the back of net twice in those matches.

Lucas Beraldo is currently rated at €30 million by Transfermarkt. The Blues will have to pay a hefty fee to PSG if they decide to go after him. On the other hand, PSG will do all in their powers to keep Beraldo at the club.

Beraldo is a typical brazilian defender who loves to keep ball at his feet. He has very strong ball control and very effective passing skills. In addition, Beraldo is left footed defender which makes him rare entity and increases his value. If Chelsea do decide to make a move for him, they will not have any regrets as a player like Beraldo can only make your side strong.
