Chelsea Secure Nicolas Jackson’s Future with New Deal

Chelsea were desperate to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window. They wanted to sign either Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney. However, they felt short to sign any of them. Toney has joined Saudi side Al Ahli whereas Osimhen’s future is still uncertain. According to recent news, Chelsea have now handed a new contract to their current striker Nicolas Jackson. The new contract makes Jackson player with the longest contract.

Chelsea were desperate to sign Victor Osimhen this summer. They tried really hard until the end of the transfer window on Friday. However, the deal failed due to not been able to reach the agreement between the parties involved. Napoli wanted a huge transfer fee for Osimhen. In addition, Chelsea were unwilling to pay the striker his demanded salary. This has now forced Chelsea to take a different route about the future.

Chelsea extend the contract of Nicolas Jackson

The Athletic revealed that Chelsea have extended the contract of their current striker. This makes Jackson player with the longest contract in the current squad alongside Cole Palmer. Enzo Maresca has revealed that Jackson is their current number nine and that he is very happy with the striker. Maresca had a meeting with Jackson in which he talked about the good things the striker is currently doing for the club.

Jackson joined Chelsea last year from Villarreal. He has been able to score 19 goals and provide 7 assists for Chelsea in 48 matches. In addition, Jackson has been very good for the Blues this season. He has scored 2 goals and gave 1 assist in 3 Premier League matches. Jackson has currently been called up by the Senegal national team. He has yet to score for his country. Jackson has two chances against Burkina Faso and Burundi to open up his international goal scoring tally.
