Nkunku to leave Chelsea this summer
One player who has been constantly linked with exit is Christopher Nkunku. He joined the club in 2023 but quickly suffered serious injury. This kept him out of action for a very long time. He played only 14 games in his first season.
Nkunku returned to full fitness this season. But, he had already lost his starting place to other players. The 27 year old struggled for game-time and hence wanted to leave in January. Bayern Munich were keen to sign him but the deal ended in failure.
However, Nkunku is still keen to exit in the summer window. The Blues are now ready to let him leave with Florian Plettenberg confirming that the player has made a final decision to leave. He added that there are no doubts left about Nkunku’s future at West London.
Chelsea wanted £60 million for Nkunku in the January window. But, they are now open to let him leave for £40 million. The Blues are keen to raise funds for new signings and hence are ready to accept loss on their initial investment.
