One Chelsea star has expressed the desire to move away from Stamford Bridge this summer. He only joined the Blues in summer 2024 but is already on loan to Italy.
The star in question here is 25 year old Joao Felix. Felix joined the Blues in summer 2024 and played 20 games. He responded well and scored 7 goals along with picking 2 assists. But still, he found himself behind other stars in pecking order.
As a result, Felix has left Chelsea on loan to join AC Milan. He already has scored for Milan and is having good time. Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently said that they needed only 5 minutes to get the deal for Felix done with the Blues.
“It took just 5 minutes to get Joao Felix loan deal done with Chelsea. Conceicao wanted Joao, we spoke and we decided to trust him for our project. It’s been a very fast negotiation” – Ibrahimovic about Felix loan deal as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Felix does not have a buy option in his deal. Earlier it suggested that he will still have future at West London. But, now it seems like his chaper is over in Blue jersey.
Joao Felix wants to leave Chelsea in summer
Maresca already said that they do not miss Felix. In addition, the Blues are likely to sign some new attackers in summer. Now, Felix himself has expressed a desire to stay at Italy beyond his loan deal.
“I’ve joined AC Milan on loan but if there’s a chance to stay beyond this season… I’d be happy. This is a top European club. I’m already in love with everything here. Kaka was my idol. Inter were also keen but for me was impossible… as I wanted Milan” – Felix about his move to Milan.
Felix also spoke about why he opted to join Milan. He said that he never asked about playing time to Conceicao. Instead, he asked to play in his natural position. Conceicao agreed the player’s demand and hence secured his signature.
