The star in question here is Renato Veiga whom the Blues signed in summer 2024. Chelsea signed him for £12 million but the deal did not work out. The player played 18 games for the Blues in the first half of the season and scored 2 goals along with picking 1 assist.
However, Veiga was not the first-choice player for Maresca. He often came in as a substitute. In addition, he had to play as a left-back. As a result, he opted to move away from Stamford Bridge in January. He joined Juventus where he was guaranteed a place as a centre-back.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are ready to part ways with Veiga this summer. They will demand as high as £30 million for him. Juventus are unwilling to spend such a high amount and would rather sign him on loan for another season.
Veiga is joined by Chalobah and Disasi in the list of possible departures. In addition, Badiashile also finds his future uncertain at the club. He can get sold if a right offer comes across this summer. Hence, the Blues can be seen bringing in atleast 2 new defenders.
