Chelsea star Ben Chilwell has opened up about his loan move to Crystal Palace. The 27 year old has finally left the West London club in order to play regularly.
Ben Chilwell finally moves away from Chelsea
Chilwell joined the Blues in 2020 and had an amazing first season. He helped the club to win Champions League but that was the only season when he was fully fit in Chelsea’s jersey. After the 2020/21 season, he has missed most of the games due to injury.
Enzo Maresca took over as head coach this season and told Chilwell to find new club. He told the 27 year old clearly that he is not in the plans for future. Chilwell was put upon in summer market but the Blues were unable to sell him.
Chilwell was injured in summer which extended his stay at West London. He was then made available in market once again this window. But, the player was said to not accept pay cut which made clubs drop interest in him.
Finally, Chilwell has found the next club but it is a loan move. He has joined Crystal Palace until the end of the season. The 27 year old has played only 45 minutes of football this season but now it is very likely to change.

The loan deal is in best interest of both clubs along with the player. Palace will now have a quality star at club whereas Chelsea have successfully reduced squad number. The player is also happy with the deal and opened up about the move.
“Crystal Palace is a club that’s going in a great direction. You look at the last few months, with the results and how the team’s playing, it was a no-brainer to make the decision to come here” – Chilwell after joining Palace as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
