Chelsea star set to return from injury in coming weeks

Chelsea have been handed with a massive boost currently. One of their main starters is set to return back to pitch from injury in the coming weeks. Enzo Maresca has provided the updates about his situation.

The star in question here is Wesley Fofana. The 24 year old has been regular starter for the club ever since Enzo Maresca took over. He has played really well and formed a good partnership with Levi Colwill. They have been tested sometimes but it is just there first season together.

Fofana missed the whole last season due to injury. He made a good comeback this season and played 12 Premier League games. But, he once again got unlucky and faced injury. As a result, he has been sidelined since the 1st of December 2024.

Chelsea boss confirms about Fofana’s return

Fabrizio Romano has posted the update coming from Chelsea boss about Wesley Fofana. Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Fofana is very close to making a return back to pitch. The 24 year old may return in the coming 3 to 4 weeks.

This will come as a big boost for the Blues who are lacking a spark in defence. It will be interesting to see if Fofana is able to claim back his starting spot as soon as he is fully fit. He may then be paired again with Colwill or Maresca may replace Colwill with Trevoh Chalobah.

If we monitor the situation, it very likely seems like Colwill will be able to keep his starting spot. He and Fofana are the only two players who are safe in the upcoming summer window. Both Chalobah and Disasi are set to be sold permanently whereas Badiashile may also have to face a similar outcome.

Chelsea are set to welcome some new stars in he defensive line. As of now, they have sights set on Marc Guehi. In addition, they also like Dean Huijsen but he is looked upon by multiple clubs across whole Europe.
