Chelsea star wanted by Benfica on loan

According to Record Portugal, Benfica want to resign Joao Felix. They want to sign him on loan from Chelsea. Their aim is to make him available for the Fifa Club World Cup. It wil help the Portugese giants to add more firepower to their squad.

Felix is currently away on loan at AC Milan. But, the Italian giants have no intention to make him their permanent player this summer. In addition, the Blues are also ready to move-on from Felix and hence he will be made available in market.

Felix came through Benfica’s academy before being signed by Atletico Madrid. In the 2018/19 season, he played 42 games for Benfica. He scored 20 goals and picked 8 assists that season which made Atletico pay €127 million to sign him.

Chelsea signed Felix for the second time last summer. Earlier, the player was at West London on loan for half season. Last summer, the Blues paid £42 million for Felix but the deal has not worked out. The Portuguese struggled for game-time and opted to leave on loan in January.

Chelsea are said to sign a new winger this summer. Hence, they will like to sell Joao Felix in order to raise funds. It will be interesting to see if Benfica are able to convince the Blues to send the 25 year old on loan once again.
