One Chelsea striker has departed on loan until the end of the season. On the other hand, the Blues are keeping tabs on other strikers. They may make a move in final days of January transfer window.
The Blues are very likely to add another striker to their squad this year. They are keeping tabs on available options this month. Nicolas Jackson has been in fine form this season. He is expected to finish the season as first choice striker.
The Blues want to sign a young striker who can serve as backup for Jackson. But, they are also open about the option of replacing Jackson if they are able to land a world-class striker. As of now, they are open doing business in the final days of January window.
However, Chelsea may need to wait until summer to land their top targets. Matt Law has reported that they are showing strong interest in Liam Delap and Benjamin Sesko. As for Sesko, they will have heavy competition from Arsenal.
Chelsea academy star departs on loan
Amidst this hunt of new striker, one Chelsea academy star has left the club on loan. He is 19 year old English star Jimmy-Jay Morgan who has joined Gillingham on loan until the end of the season.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan is yet to play for Chelsea’s first team but has been regular for their youth teams. He joined the Blues from Southampton in 2023 and has played 60 games for them in all stages.
Morgan mainly plays as striker but can also play as attacking midfielder. This season he has played 21 games for academy and responded by scoring 9 goals along with 3 assists.
Gillingham are playing in League 2 and are currently on 16th position. Morgan can be an important upgrade on their current strikers and can be very helpful for them. The player can himself benefit too due to playing senior football regularly.
