Chelsea take important decision about Christopher Nkunku

Christopher Nkunku joined Chelsea last year from RB Leipzig for around £52 million. The Blues had high expectations from him but suffered a blow was Nkunku got injured. The French international only played 14 matches last season across all competitions. This season, Nkunku has started on a bright note but his future is seen uncertain at the club my many.

The Blues are keen to sign Victor Osimhen next year and are doing all in their power. But, they also need to keep PSR rules in mind and operate carefully. Many of their stars are linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Christopher Nkunku is one of those who are linked with away moves. Many of the top clubs are interested to sign Nkunku and PSG are leading the race. PSG want to improve their front line as they still have not adapted after Mbappe leaving them this summer.

Nkunku once played for PSG, where he was viewed as youngster with bright future. He played 78 matches for French giants and scored 11 goals along with picking 3 assists. Nkunku may be tempted by the move to his former club but it will also depend on what his current clubs thinks.

Chelsea have already taken firm decision about Nkunku

Nkunku has had a drop in his market value since joining the Blues. He was once rated at €80 million but is now being rated at €65 million according to Transfermarkt. But we do have to consider that he was injured last year and missed majority of the matches.

This season Nkunku has started really well and has adapted to the striker position assigned to him by Enzo Maresca. He has scored 7 goals in 11 matches this season and Maresca is very happy with him.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea have no intention to sell Nkunku despite the interest from other clubs. Maresca sees Nkunku as an important player for future and Chelsea board has backed him. This may come out as a blow for PSG and they may have to monitor other options.
