Chelsea target looked upon by 3 other clubs

One Chelsea target is currently looked upon by 3 other clubs. The player is likely to be made available in the summer transfer window. He now has interest from 3 English, 1 Spanish and 1 Saudi club.

The star in question here is Rafael Leao who plays for AC Milan. Leao is 25 years old, plays as winger and represents Portugal on international stage. He joined Milan in 2019 and has became their key asset in their recent seasons.

Leao has so far played 248 games for Milan. He has registered 67 goals and 48 assists in those games. Milan were happy and had €150 million release clause in his contract. But, they have not been impressed with his progress in recent seasons.

Leao has been linked with exit and it seems that Milan will not stand in his way. They have also reduced the asking price and are demanding around €80 million. Chelsea and Barcelona have been heavily linked with him recently.

Chelsea are in need of winger ans this is not the first time they are linked with him. They tried to sign him in 2022 but the transfer fee resulted in them losing interest in him. Now, they have been offered a good chance to sign him as his fee is dropped. But, there is heavy competition to sign the Portugese winger.

Chelsea need to beat 4 clubs in order to sign Rafael Leao

Firstly, the Blues need to beat Barca in the race. They can find it easy due to the current financial problems faced by the Spanish giants. However, now 3 more clubs have joined the race to sign Leao.

Fichajes have reported that Leao is looked upon by Man United, Man City and Saudi side Al Hilal. This means the Portugese winger now has interest from 5 different clubs and 3 different countries.

Chelsea will also need to convince Leao by guaranteeing him regular game time. They can struggle to do so due to the vast squad depth. Hence, it will not be easy for them to land the 25 year old in summer.
