Man United have dropped their asking price of young attacker ahead of summer window. This will come as a big boost for Chelsea who hold long-term interest in him. The Blues are also joined by Italian giants in the race.
United are ready to part ways with many of their current stars. Ruben Amorim has identified players who he thinks have little to offer to his future plans. The sale of current players will also help the club to open space for new players. But, most importantly it will help the club to get their financial books right.
Chelsea handed major boost in pursuit of Man United star
Chelsea were keen to sign Alejandro Garnacho in January. They were joined by Napoli in the race. The Red Devils were ready to sell Garnacho but their asking price resulted in failure of the deal. But, they are keen to sell the Argentine in the summer window.
According to Il Mattino via Calcio Napoli 24, Man United have accepted that their asking price for Garnacho will not be met by other clubs. Hence, they have dropped their asking price to €45 million. The report suggests that Antonio Conte is still keen to land Garnacho. On the other hand, Chelsea too are still interested.
Napoli sold Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January and have opening on left side of the wing. Garnacho can be a perfect fit and can be a long-term investment. But, their were reports earlier stating that the Argentine may prefer to stay in Premier League handing Chelsea the lead.
Chelsea are keen to sign a left winger but want him to play in middle and right when needed. This makes Garnacho a perfect fit as per the plans. In addition, he is only 20 years old and this qualifies for the hiring policy of the West London club.
