Chelsea will be in the market for a new striker in the upcoming summer. At the same time, Mykhailo Mudryk could be sold to create room for the new forward. The Blues were unable to sign Victor Osimhen this summer. They were leading the race right until the end. But, they ended up pulling out of the deal due to ‘unfavorable’ conditions. Now, they are still without a quality center-forward. But, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku are doing their job really well. Both have already opened their accounts for the season. As a matter of fact, Nkunku’s goal was vital for the Blues in claiming all 3-points against Bournemouth in Premier League game week 4.
Chelsea considering to sell Mudryk to sign new striker
Being unable to sign Osimhen this summer, they are now targeting a new forward altogether. As per football.london, the Blues are keen to sign Lautaro Martinez. The 27-year-old has been in fine form in recent years. He is very consistent in front of goal. At the same time, he is more than capable as a leader too. But, Inter Milan won’t let Martinez go so easily. So, the Blues are actually planning to sell three players to make room for the Argentinian star. Chelsea plan to sell Mudryk as one of the trio to sign the new striker. Chukwuemeka and Badiashile are the other two players. Both of them could be signing for AC Milan.
Why Lautaro Martinez?
The 27-year-old is regularly finding the back of the net in Serie A. As per transfermarkt, he has 172 G/A in 285 appearances for Inter. He was also great for Argentina in the Copa America. Man City manager Pep Guardiola even went on to say that the forward is more than capable of winning the Ballon d’or. Without a doubt, Martinez could be a great new striker for Chelsea. But, frankly speaking, the Blues will find it very difficult to secure a move for the 27-year-old.
