One Chelsea target is said to be made available in the upcoming summer transfer window. His current club are considering offers despite signing him only in summer 2024.
The Blues are set for a busy summer transfer window. They are set to sign some top defenders along with striker, winger and midfielder. Lastly, the West London club might also consider signing a goalkeeper although there were some reports against it.
As for midfield, the Blues have already parted ways with Cesare Casadei in January. They are also willing to cash in on Carney Chukwuemeka. Lastly, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also forcing an exit due to lack of game time.
The Blues have made it clear that holding midfielder plays a big role for them. Hence, they want a player who can fill in that role as well as can operate higher when required. They were linked with one Juventus star in January but the deal never went forward.
Chelsea handed chance to sign Juventus star in summer
The star in question here is Douglas Luiz who join Juve in summer 2024. He joined them from Aston Villa after an amazing 2023/24 season. He played 53 games for Villa in his last season at England and was able to score 10 goals and 10 assists.
Juve opted to pay Villa £42 million to sign Luiz but the deal didn’t went as per plans. The player has missed many games due to injury and when he’s fit, he has not been able to have same impact as he had at Villa.
Earlier Calcio Mercato reported that Chelsea showed interest in Douglas Luiz and now they have reported that Juve may consider offers for him in summer. The Italian giants are concerned by the player’s injury record and hence may opt to cash in on him.
Luiz will like to return to England where he shined brightest in his career. However, he might struggle for regular game time at Chelsea. The Blues already have Caicedo, Lavia and Enzo Fernandez who are all playing major role for Enzo Maresca.
