“Chelsea have a big opportunity this weekend. Manchester City don’t look very good and if they lose to Liverpool, a win will lift Chelsea to second in the table. If they manage to remain consistent from there then who knows, maybe they have a outside change of catching Liverpool at the top” – Merson speaking to Sportskeeda.
Lastly, Merson said that Chelsea have winnable fixtures coming soon and they should make the most of it. He ended by predicting their match against Aston Villa. Merson thinks the Blues will win by 3-1 against Unai Emery’s side.
If City do lose or even if they drew, this will be a big boost for Chelsea. In addition, it will also help Arsenal who have equal points as the Blues but are on the 4th position due to the goal difference. At this moment, both clubs will hope that the game ends in a draw as it will also reduce the gap between them and table toppers Liverpool.
