Chelsea to face tough competition for Victor Osimhen in January

Chelsea is set to face tough challenges for their top target Victor Osimhen in the January transfer. The Nigerian forward has been on the list of the Blues ever since the last transfer window. They have set Osimhen as a priority acquirement but several continuing teams are in line.

Chelsea has their priority set on Victor has been on their radar since the summer transfer window. The Blues are set to compete with Juventus to acquire the Nigerian attacker in January. These clubs will have to open up their pockets for the prolific forward.

Victor joined the Turkish Giants Galatasaray on the last day of the transfer day. He was heavily linked to join Chelsea at the start of the season but the issues did not resolve till the last day. Osimhen has been very good for Galatasaray this campaign. He has scored 6 goals and assisted twice in 7 appearances for the club.

The Marque Nigerian attacker made a move from Napoli because he was not part of manager Antonia Conte’s plan. He struggled to get playing time in the Italian club. Osimhen was frustrated as he remained on the bench for most of last season. Victor was also in a tangle with the club’s hierarchical management according to Sky Italia.

Osimhen was interested in a move to PSG. Napoli did not interest the Parisian club as they were unwilling to play the player’s release clause. There was interest from Saudi clubs but Victor denied all the offers from Saudi Arabia.

Juventus and Chelsea battle head-to-head for Osimhen

The Serie A giants have recently reached out to Galatasaray for Victor. The club is actively looking for replacements in their attacking lineup. After Dusan Vlahovic’s uncertainty with the club, the Nigerian forward is the team’s top target.

Osimhen is in brilliant form with the Turkish giants as he scored 6 goals for Galatasaray this campaign. This is no surprise that there are many teams who are looking to snatch Victor from Chelsea. The Blues are ready to offer the 25-year-old a big money deal but so is the Old lady.

Juventus has plenty more targets under their radar to strengthen their attacking lineup. Manchester United‘s Joshua Zirkzee is one target for the Serie A giants. He has had an underwhelming start with the Red Devils this campaign.

The current market price for Osimhen is 75 million euros. This is a humongous release price but both Chelsea and Juventus have the pockets. Chelsea will put in more than a fight for Victor as he is the club’s top priority.

The Blues Eye targets Osimhen’s replacement

Chelsea has set their radar on another attacking option if their deal with Victor Osimhen collapses in January. They have shown interest in Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap as their potential target in the next transfer window.

Delap has been exceptional for newly promoted Ipswich after his move from Manchester City. He joined the Tractor Boys for an initial fee of 15 million euros. Liam is the club’s top scorer this season with 6 goals in 12 games.

The 21-year-old can fit in quite well in the Chelsea squad. Enzo Maresca will not mind an exceptional talent like Delap who is in good form. He is an emergency choice for the Blues in January if only Osimhen does not travel to London.

The Premier League contention still continues for the Blues. Chelsea will not hold back in their next matches. If they bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge he will be a huge asset. Nicolas Jackson is the club’s first-choice striker.

Chelsea currently holds the third spot on the Premier League table with 22 points. They will look to continue with their winning ways to compete with clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool. Enzo Marseca’s men won their last game against Leicester City 2-1.

The Blues will look to maintain their good form all across the season. Their next match is against Heidenheim in the UEFA Conference League. Chelsea have been very good in the cup games so far this campaign.
